Privacy policy
What this site collects when you visit it or write to us, why, and who else handles it.
Last updated
This is a draft. It has not been reviewed and is not yet in force. Text in square brackets is a detail still to be filled in, or marks a proposed term that is still being reviewed.
Who we are
This site, praxyssolutions.com, is run by Praxys Solutions LLC ("Praxys Solutions", "we" and "us"). This policy covers the website only. Work we do for a client is covered by the agreement for that work.
Questions about this policy, or about information we hold about you, go to info@praxyssolutions.com.
What we collect
The site collects three kinds of information, and nothing else:
- what you choose to send us through the contact form;
- how the site is used, through Mixpanel, an analytics service;
- the routine technical records our hosting provider keeps for every request.
The contact form
The contact form asks for a message and, if you like, your name and email address. When you send it, the site opens a draft email in your own email app, addressed to the person you picked. Nothing reaches that mailbox until you send the draft yourself, and once you do, we receive it like any other email.
If you also enter a valid email address, your browser sends a copy of the message, your name and email address, and the product you asked about if you asked for a quote, to our server. Our server adds the time and your IP address and passes the copy to our own client records system, so an inquiry is not lost if the email never arrives. This copy is sent when you press the button, whether or not you then send the draft.
We use what you send to reply to you and to keep a record of your inquiry.
Analytics
We use Mixpanel to count visits and to see which parts of the site people read. It records:
- each page you view, with its address and title, and the address of the site that sent you there, if any;
- the buttons and links you select, with their text and where they lead, including which of us you chose to email;
- which sections of a page scroll into view.
Mixpanel adds your browser, operating system and type of device, and an approximate location (city and country) that it works out from your IP address. It keeps a random identifier in your browser's local storage so that visits from the same browser can be counted together. The site never sends your name, your email address or your message to Mixpanel.
If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, Mixpanel records nothing. You can also block it with most content blockers, or remove its identifier by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Cookies and local storage
The site sets one cookie, praxys-theme. It remembers whether you chose the light theme, the dark theme or your system setting, and it lasts a year. It does nothing else and is not shared with anyone.
Mixpanel's identifier, described above, is kept in local storage rather than in a cookie. We use no advertising cookies and no cookies that track you across other sites.
Hosting and server records
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web server, it records each request, including your IP address, your browser's user agent, the page requested and the time, in order to deliver the site and keep it secure.
The site's fonts are served from our own domain, so loading a page sends nothing to Google or any other font service.
Who else handles it
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. The only other parties that handle it are the services that run the site and our business for us:
- Vercel, which hosts this site and its server, and also hosts our client records system and stores its files;
- Neon, which runs the database that holds our client records;
- Upstash, which our client records system uses for rate limiting, so the contact form cannot be used to flood it;
- Mixpanel, which provides analytics;
- Cloudflare, which receives email sent to our addresses and forwards it to our inboxes;
- Google, whose Gmail service holds the email we receive;
- Resend, which delivers the email we send.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Contact form copies and emails are kept for two years after our last exchange with you [proposed, pending review], or for longer if they become part of a project we take on. Analytics data is kept for as long as our Mixpanel plan holds it. Server records are kept by Vercel for a limited period under its own policy.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to info@praxyssolutions.com. We will confirm your request by email and tell you what we did. Depending on where you live, the law may give you further rights, and we will honor them.
Security
The site is served only over an encrypted connection. Before our server passes a contact form copy on, it signs it, so our records system accepts only copies that came from this site.
No way of sending or storing information is perfectly secure, so please do not send passwords, payment details or health information through the form.
Children
The site is meant for businesses, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If what the site collects changes, we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
